I’m Not Dead, I Swear
Okay, okay. It’s been about five days since I last posted here. It’s not my fault, though! I’ve just started to recover from what was the craziest esports event I’ve ever been to.
CWL Dallas had it all: great Call of Duty action, great company with my fellow media members, and two bomb threats. Yes, not one, but two bomb threats. The first derailed the first day of competition before it had even gotten off the ground. We were evacuated around 3:45pm local and it wasn’t until 8pm that MLG let everyone know that the tournament wouldn't continue on Friday.
Saturday went off just fine, despite it being one hell of a long day. Matches started at 9am and went all the way until 3:30am on Sunday. Thankfully I didn’t stay there all day, though, or else I might still be asleep.
Sunday kicked off at about 9am and the grand finals finished up around 1am on Monday. The day wasn’t complete without that second bomb threat, however. This time we were only evacuated for about an hour, so it didn’t affect the proceedings too much.
I was then up at 7:30am to get an Uber to the airport for my 10:30am flight. Once I got home, I went straight to bed and slept for a few hours before firing up the stream machine once again.
This morning I planned on getting up around 8:30am to work out and get my day started, but my body was like sit your ass back down and I slept until almost 11. It worked, though, as I feel so much better and well rested now. It’s a good thing too since I’m basically in the calm before the storm. Overwatch League and League of Legends are about to start up in about a month now, meaning that everything is going to get super hectic all at once.
I still plan to keep the train rolling here in this space for as long as possible, so don’t you worry about me dropping off anymore! Tomorrow we will be back to out regularly scheduled program.
Until then, have a great day and I’ll see you guys soon!
