Disneyland: A Haiku

When I set out on my quest to write in this space everyday, I forgot that I’d be heading out to Disneyland in a few days time. As such, I didn’t have much time to craft a substantial piece for you guys. This led me to thinking of ideas for a shorter piece that I could still put together here at the park.

For reasons unbeknownst to me, a haiku is what I landed on. I’ve written maybe two haikus in my lifetime. I actually had to google the syllable counts for each line. I’m that inexperienced here. I still gave it a shot, though! Let’s just say it’s not my best work.

Let me give it you some background. My idea was to contrast the happiness and joy that comes from a trip to Disneyland with the darkness of society. I think that’s clear when you read it really. The problem is that it’s just basic as hell.

See for yourself.

When the world is dark

The happiest place on earth

Is the great escape.

Yeah, that’s a thing I wrote. I’ll see you guys tomorrow!
